Payments set-up

Onboarding

Fill this in once, before your first day on site. It’s how we set you up for pay, CIS and site access. It takes about five minutes. Have your National Insurance number, UTR and bank details to hand.

01 About you

Spelt exactly as on your passport and bank account.

UK numbers start 07. For a number from abroad, start with + and the country code.

Including the postcode.

Photo of your face

A clear, front-on photo, like a passport picture. We use it on site ID cards and the site sign-in system.

02 Tax and CIS

2 letters, 6 numbers, then A, B, C or D. You need one to work in the UK. Apply for a National Insurance number

10 digits. You get one when you register for Self Assessment as self-employed. Register for Self Assessment

Are you registered for CIS?

Under the Construction Industry Scheme we take tax off your pay and send it to HMRC towards your tax and National Insurance. If you’re registered, we deduct 20%. If you’re not, we have to deduct 30%. Register for CIS

Are you VAT registered?

Most individual tradespeople aren’t. If you are, your invoices carry the CIS reverse-charge note.

03 Bank details

The UK account your pay goes into. It must be in your own name, as above.

Cards and qualifications Optional

Tick any you hold. Bring the cards with you on your first day.

05 Anything else

Anything we should know: who referred you, a start date, a missing detail you’ll send later.

Your details go straight to the IOL office over a secure connection. Nothing is kept on this page.

Thank you.

We’ve got your details. The office will check them and be in touch before your first payment. If anything changes, like a new bank account, tell the office directly. Don’t send it through this form again.
